The Eloquent Poster

Design first became the key way to promote social progress in Britain during 1930-1960. The commercial poster became the most eloquent form of mass media and it was the Post Office that became leaders in this trend, comissioning some of Britain’s best artists and designers for their own poster design.
We have chosen a few of our favorite designs for our blog from the British postal museum archive, a lovely archive that explores the  history of the British postal service since Charles I opened up his royal mail to the public in 1635…lovely! Time for a cup of tea and a bit of a read!
