Love this collection by designer Louise Goldin and these shots from the show, here is a little more info from NY mag

'English designer Louise Goldin launched her eponymous knitwear line in 2005, just barely out of grad school. Eschewing traditional silhouettes, the label is known for its short, body-hugging knit dresses, tunics, and swimwear for women. With bright colors, unusual weaves, and futuristic patterns, Louise Goldin employs both natural fabrics like wool and cashmere and synthetic materials like Lurex and metallics.'

Elena Dawson

 Whilst still in London last week we popped into Dover street Market for some wardrobe inspiration, and came across some beautiful pieces by Elena Dawson, we studied at the same University back in the day and I loved her work then and equally love it now, I found this write up about her on stylezeitgeist 

Elena Dawson is a womenswear and menswear clothing/shoe-maker.

Born in London, Elena studied Art and Fashion Design before co-founding Paul Harnden Clothiers in 2000, the clothing division of Paul Harnden Shoemakers. She was an instrumental part of the design, concept, and business until 2006, when she decided to establish an independent clothing and shoe label.

On a quest to find the perfect boots for this Autumn/Winter I popped into  Fiorentini and Baker in Notting Hill a couple of days ago whilst in London for an inspiration trip (feeling very inspired!) Being very indecisive when it comes to my own choices I tried them all on, and loved them all. Fiorentini and Baker is a collaboration between British shoe designer Deborah Baker and Italian interior designer Gianpaolo Fiorentini that resulted in beautifully classic shoes for men and women using supple soft leather, soft suede and original vintage fabrics to create wearable and durable hand crafted shoes by artisans that ensure that your beloved boots will grow " old as gracefully as the stars that inspired them" ..so just have to decide which ones to buy now!

New shoes....

Really love this new collection of footwear by Zoe Lee.  Zoe and I used to work together as fellow designers at Te Casan, New York a few years ago.  Some of my favourite shoes to date have been designed by her so I was really happy to see her starting her own collection. She has a great sense of proportion, construction and material which make for timeless, cool designs that I for one am still wearing years down the line.  Check out the link to her video and website below for the full collection and more info.

'“Mickey the Midget” a hero of the London Blitz'

Whilst having my morning read of The Guardian Online today I came across this article about The Gentle Author, an Eastend Blogger  who writes daily about  places or people who surround him in Spitalfields, recording its history and  their stories. His portraits of the people around him are described as “ lovingly drawn portraits of remarkable, ordinary folk, from Maurice Franklin, a 93-year-old wood-turner, to Myra Love, who lives in a one bedroom flat in Bethnal Green but also happens to be a Maori Princess. There is a chestnut seller, a jewel thief, a pigeon flyer, curry chefs, trendsetters, oddballs, artists, umbrella makers and Sandra Esquilant, the landlady of the Golden Heart, who is in many locals' eyes the de facto Queen of Spitalfields”

The annonymous bloggers work has now been published in a book called Spitalfields Life:

“Everything you seek in London can be found in this book – street life, street art, markets, diverse food, immigrant culture, ancient houses and history, pageants and parades, rituals and customs, traditional trades and old family businesses.”

I've chosen a few pictures from his Blog Spitalfields Life that I love, including Myra Love, who is mentioned above, a Maori princess living in a one bedroom flat..just goes to show you never know who your neighbours are!

What we Love: These incredible wedding dresses by designer Jane Bourvis, created in her Atelier in Notting Hill, all the pieces are created from Vintage and Antique gowns reworked from Edwardian, Victorian to 20s gowns, incorporating delicate textiles and fine laces. They are of course all unique, custom made, and handcrafted, we couldn't love them more!
