Bombay Electric...

Can't wait to check out Bombay Electric - a concept store set up by the the stylish Priya Kishore as a platform for Indian fashion and design..
'Since its launch in 2007 she has attracted considerable media attention most recently from Suzy Menkes, who wrote: “this is a template for the next millennium of Indian style" (International Herald Tribune, 2008).
Priya collaborates with both established and emerging Indian designers to produce fashion-led collections to be sold in Bombay Electric. She champions sustainable design and collaborates with several Indian NGOs such as Women Weave, Aranya, and Alba, to translate traditional crafts and handloom techniques into contemporary designs. These initiatives ensure long-term sustainability for the crafts across India. During her time in London, Priya aims to create bridges between Indian and British designers and to foster collaborations between designers in both countries.'

Louise Goldin
Love this collection by designer Louise Goldin and these shots from the show, here is a little more info from NY mag
'English designer Louise Goldin launched her eponymous knitwear line in 2005, just barely out of grad school. Eschewing traditional silhouettes, the label is known for its short, body-hugging knit dresses, tunics, and swimwear for women. With bright colors, unusual weaves, and futuristic patterns, Louise Goldin employs both natural fabrics like wool and cashmere and synthetic materials like Lurex and metallics.'

Accessory inspiration..
We love a good, hand made quality accessory, especially one with a beautiful story behin it...20 years ago Ale Sly left her home town, London in search of Adventure in South America. With her Argentine husband and 2 small children they started a new life on the outskirts of Buenos Aires.
After traveling and exploring the country extensively with in no time Ale Sly became fascinated by all the indigenous cultures rich in tradition and colour. Discovering beautiful textiles and leathers along the way in markets stalls high up in the Andes and Rodeos where proud Gauchos would parade their horses dressed in Rawhide and Silvery finery, it was enough to set the ball rolling and with in no time the ALE SLY range was born. For the last 15 years she has designed and sold her accessories in many countries around the world mainly concentrating in England. It is of huge importance that each product is made by hand using noble materials that Argentina represents i.e. Leather, Alpaca wool and Horn. Beautiful patterned cowhides, leathers and textiles are used with traditional gaucho rawhide braiding to stitch together Bags, belts cushions and old fashioned looms are used for the weaving of rugs and carpets.
The strong Vibrant colours and the carefree spirit of each article is a reflection of the influence that living in South America has had on her over these last 20 years.
Each product is unique, special and tell its own story.

Globe shopping: Love adorned, N.Y
Another lifestyle concept store we love is 'Love adorned' in New York, beautiful interior, lovely ethos...
Love Adorned – a lifestyle concept store
from New York Adorned’s Lori Leven – expands beyond fine jewelry to
include smart tools for home, body and travel. The shop’s lovingly
curated inventory addresses the shift away from ‘throw away culture’
with lasting solutions that bring ease and preserve beauty in our busy
lives. For where strength exists in design and simplicity, it also is
expressed through craftsmanship and quality; all key elements in the
shop’s offerings.
Love Adorned often looks to its well
traveled and visionary friends to learn about their time tested,
sometimes obscure acquisitions or remedies that they love. Every new
discovery feels like a piece to the puzzle, whether it makes the body
cleaner or the mind clearer. Building on seasonal themes, the store
opened December 2010 with an initial exploration of things cherished and
celebrated, collected both from years of searching and growing
fascinations. Treasured objects are the things that remind us of the
path we carve though the world, and of milestones in our lives. Love
Adorned hopes to be a place that brings all things beautiful and
inspiring, informative and innovative, to light.

Elena Dawson
Whilst still in London last week we popped into Dover street Market for some wardrobe inspiration, and came across some beautiful pieces by Elena Dawson, we studied at the same University back in the day and I loved her work then and equally love it now, I found this write up about her on stylezeitgeist
Elena Dawson is a womenswear and menswear clothing/shoe-maker.
Born in London, Elena studied Art and Fashion Design before co-founding Paul Harnden Clothiers in 2000, the clothing division of Paul Harnden Shoemakers. She was an instrumental part of the design, concept, and business until 2006, when she decided to establish an independent clothing and shoe label.
