notes from Jaipur..

Arrived in Jaipur a few days ago on the not so luxurious Jaipur Express, but just in time to catch the last few days of the Jaipur literary festival , held at Diggy Palace Hotel, which is beautiful and enjoyed sipping chai and wandering between book readings and debates, and browsing the bookshop.. what a treat , and treated myself to these ..

Louise Goldin

Love this collection by designer Louise Goldin and these shots from the show, here is a little more info from NY mag

'English designer Louise Goldin launched her eponymous knitwear line in 2005, just barely out of grad school. Eschewing traditional silhouettes, the label is known for its short, body-hugging knit dresses, tunics, and swimwear for women. With bright colors, unusual weaves, and futuristic patterns, Louise Goldin employs both natural fabrics like wool and cashmere and synthetic materials like Lurex and metallics.'

Dreamy, ghostly.... other worldly

Just discovered these beautiful, other worldly photos by stylist and photographer Vikki Ivie. Inspired by inner worldly dreams, nature and Sarah Moon, she captures the essence of femininity in a ghostly and ethereal way.

Make do and mend..

Of course there is nothing we like better than finding an old handkerchief or a treasured shirt at a flea market, faded with age and repaired in all corners with intricate stitches..precious things that were worth the time spent to repair them.. in days where it is more normal to discard ripped blouses or broken plates it is a delight to see such beautifully repaired items especially when it comes beloved household items. So we thought we would share some images from one of our favourite blogs, Past Imperfect, that is dedicated to all things that that have been inventively and lovingly repaired, from stapled plates and cups, patchwork teapots and wire weaving a pearl-ware ladle back to life, and don't they look all the more beautiful for it!
